description by theodora alfredsdottir
"RIBBON takes its inspiration from traditional houses in Iceland that are often clad with corrugated sheet material. This act of bending and folding is something that is a recurring theme within my practice. I took a linear sheet and created volume and form through the simple act of folding - starting with 3D paper sketches, where sharp corners and pleats were easily achieved. When translated into metal sheet, the same process created soft curves reminiscent of the movement in a delicate ribbon." - Theodora Alfredsdottir
